Colin’s “Catch of the Day”: Adams Morgan Loft, Too Bright?

The home that caught my eye for this edition of “Catch of the Day” is a gorgeous Adams Morgan loft on Champlain St. in DC. When viewing the listing you get the sense you might have accidentally landed on Dwell.com. Big, vialis 40mg open spaces, pharm modern finishes, two story floor to ceiling windows… oh, but wait, could that be the problem?

Priced at $699,000 at the time of this post, I was trying hard to understand why it is that this home has not sold. A gorgeous 2 bedroom, 2 bath layout, with dramatic light and all the finishes anyone could ask for. Then I went back to the 2 story floor to ceiling windows. Though they let in a lot of light, as I looked at the images more closely I could see the cars on the street, and the passers by on the sidewalk.

In many dramatic urban renovations, or new loft construction projects it is common to have such a window array, however, it is often done in the back of the home, where a greater sense of privacy can be maintained. In this home it may be the case that would be buyers walk in and feel more like they just stepped into a boutique clothing store or a high end hair salon rather than a home. As you can see from the gorgeous photos, if that is an accurate analysis it is truly unfortunate.

I am dying to hear what you think, especially if you live in Adams Morgan and are familiar with this area, or even this particular home.
