Colin’s “Catch of the Day” 9/28/11: Subtle Falls Church Craftsman

>>>My apologies; this listing Sold this morning and is no longer available to view.<<<

Having been on the market for over 300 days, today’s “Catch of the Day”* clearly has done something to miss the mark with buyers. However, what caught my eye about this particular home was the subtle curb presence backed by bright, open, and ample spaces inside. With craftsman style touches throughout the home has room to breath inside, yet avoids being vacuous.

So, why is it not selling? I am not completely familiar with the home, but for starters, curb appeal. You have what had originally been a $1m+ home that does not have a finished driveway, and very little landscaping to brighten the first impression. Had the driveway been paved at the beginning, and a few bushes been placed near the structure, this home my have sold closer to it’s original $1,139,000 price tag. However, now it’s much more of a buyer opportunity.
