After a short 1 year delay the Arlington County Board approved a multi-phase development plan for the Arlington Mill Community Center, buy which will replace the currently shuttered center on Columbia Pike. Phase 1 is scheduled to open in Q1 2013 and should include the Community Center, help Gym, and plaza. According to Arlington County phase 1 will cost between $24m and $25m.

Phase 2 of the project will focus on housing, which reportedly include at least 61 affordable housing units. The phase will be handled by a private developer.
